About us

This all volunteer club was started in 1982 for the purpose of promoting healthy outdoor physical activity in the Mid-Ohio Valley, and to provide educational programs designed to teach residents the skills necessary to safely enjoy the physical activities. As our name implies we are involved with the sports of rowing and bicycling, but have also added walking, running, canoeing, and kayaking to the list. The club owns a few boats and bicycles that can loaned to members. In the past members have built wooden boats from kits, plans and scratch.

In recent years members have fitted children with free helmets. The last fitting was at Warren Elementary School. Members are currently developing safety signage for the multiuse Marietta River Trail.

Many years ago the club hosted the Marietta River Rendezvous. This was a two day cycling event along the Muskingum River, from Duncan Falls to Marietta on the first day, returning to Duncan Falls the next.
